Report: Urban Nature Walk (PF42u)
Reported by Joseph & Chan
Date: 21st April 2024
Location: Taman Tasik Perdana & Bukit Persekutuan
In conjunction with Earth Day, Malaysian Nature Society Selangor Branch is organizing an Open Day in Taman Tugu. Our special interest group, Pathfinders, will be conducting an urban nature walk to demonstrate to participants (human beings) how difficult it is for us to be able to walk from Lake Gardens to Federal Hill, through a narrow corridor.
You will discover that with the help of governmental planning, humans can still walk from Lake Gardens to Federal Hill. Similarly, the thinking is that with planning and investment, we should be able to build crossings for wildlife on both sides of the road.
By introducing the route, we hope more people will have practical access to Federal Hill (from Lake Garden). Similarly, for joggers and walkers, it is a good exercise route (up to 7km) for your activity. If you are a conservationist, we hope you will support the conservation of Federal Hill as a green lung and home to some of the last remaining urban wildlife in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
