The habitat we are visiting is a private arts residence with a 14-acre garden planted with indigenous planting material from South East Asia. What happens when climate change creates storms so powerful that 40 mighty rain forest trees can be felled in a matter of seconds? Join owners Angela and Bilqis Hijjas on this unusual tour of their fallen trees, and what happens to the landscape. Nature has surprises in store, in and around the fallen trees, you just have to observe what they are! Rimbun Dahan is also an accredited Level 1 Arboretum and a living seed bank. It's a place many tree lovers come to find, collect and bring back seeds to plant in their neck of the woods. Kids will also learn about seed banks and herbariums. If we are lucky, there might be some mighty rain forest tree fruiting the day we visit, so we can help Nature by collecting the seeds to plant. Kids will also help out in the nursery to help replant seedlings so they can grow better. Special Interest Group involved are Flora and Nature Guides.
